Can someone explain what 15k followers means for affiliate sales?

Just hit 15k on my page and everyone keeps saying “now you can monetize” but I have no idea what that actually translates to in real commission dollars. Is there like a rough average?

15k followers is a reach metric, not an earnings metric—affiliate revenue is basically Earnings ≈ impressions × CTR × conversion rate × AOV × commission %, so follower count only matters insofar as it predicts consistent impressions and buyer intent. As a rough benchmark from campaigns I’ve run: if your posts average 10–20% reach (1.5k–3k views), with 0.5–2% link CTR, 1–5% conversion, and $50–$150 AOV at 5–20% commission, you’re typically looking at anywhere from a few dollars to a few hundred per post, and the big swing factor is niche + offer fit (track with UTMs + affiliate subIDs and optimize EPC/RPM, not followers).
