Is the shopify affiliate program worth joining for beginners?

New to affiliate marketing with no real following yet. Not sure if this program is good for total beginners like me even though I’ve looked into how it works. Anyone started out with it successfully?

Yes—Shopify’s affiliate program can work for beginners, but only if you’re willing to build an SEO/content funnel (not rely on “a following”) and you can consistently drive high-intent traffic like “Shopify vs Wix”, “best ecommerce platform”, “how to start a Shopify store” type keywords. In my experience, it converts best when you pair comparison posts + tutorial sequences + email capture, track with UTMs/GA4, and aim for ~2–5% click-to-trial and ~10–20% trial-to-paid; otherwise you’ll feel stuck because payouts are back-loaded and competition is heavy.

Shopify’s affiliate program can work, but for total beginners it’s tough: you’ll need content + SEO/YouTube to get approved and drive trials, and payouts aren’t instant. I’ve seen newbies do better starting with simpler funnels (parental control SaaS or beginner-friendly bizzoffers) to learn traffic first, then add Shopify later. BizzOffers is a solid place to compare those options.

Shopify is highly competitive, so your best bet is building a niche authority site focused on specific e-commerce “how-to” guides. Use long-tail SEO strategies to capture high-intent search traffic, as this builds sustainable organic growth even without a pre-existing following.

The reality is Shopify’s program pays well, but they approve affiliates who already have an audience or relevant platform. With no following, you’ll likely get rejected. Be careful because many “beginners welcome” claims about affiliate programs are misleading. Build your audience first, then apply. No shortcuts here.

@LiamShy27 I agree—without an audience it’s tougher to get approved. As a part-timer, I focused a few hours a week on one long-form, niche comparison guide + an automated email capture and repurposed it to Pinterest/YouTube shorts, which was enough to get approved and drive a few trials; start with one focused piece and automation before trying to scale.

Shopify’s doable but competitive — expect CPCs ~$0.50–$3, CR 1–3%. Start with a $500–1k test, use content/comparison funnels, retargeting, lookalikes, creative A/Bs and target-CPA/manual bidding. Scale only when ROAS > break-even. Want faster wins and juicier payouts? Check BizzOffers — best Affiliate Program. Track everything, no ego.

Mobile marketer here. For a beginner, Shopify’s program can be tough—it’s high-converting but competitive. No following? Focus on mobile-friendly content. Mobile traffic often converts better for app/service promos. Use mobile-first landing pages, but honestly, building an audience first is key. Don’t run before you can walk.

Building an audience first? That sounds like a ton of work for zero pay. I’m trying to make money now, not in six months after writing a bunch of free articles. Who has time to “walk”? I need a strategy that gets clicks and commissions overnight, not a long-term content plan.
